Classroom Routine

Currently I teach 4K (aka 4 year old Kindergarten) and have a morning class and an afternoon class.  Below is our typical schedule.  I try not to defer from the schedule because I believe all my students, many of which have special needs, need consistency.  

8:15 / 12:04 - Students Arrive to School
8:20 / 12:10 - Class walks upstairs to put stuff away in lockers
8:25 / 12:15 - Bathroom Break
8:30 / 12:20 - Community Breakfast/Lunch in classroom
8:45 / 12:45 - Clean-up
8:50 / 12:50 - Circle Time/Morning Meeting (name game, count students, review jobs, morning message, review daily choices, make a choice)
9:00 / 1:00 - Choice Time (one hour of uninterrupted child guided choice time)
10:00 / 2:00 - Clean-up Time
10:10 / 2:10 - Bathroom Break
10:15 / 2:15 - Story Time
10:30 / 2:30 - Movement and Music Time (this is when I teach new songs, we listen and dance to music videos (Youtube videos), we test our gross motor skills, we play fun games like "Say Hello to the Floor," etc.)
10:45 / 2:45 - Get ready for recess/dismissal
10:50 / 2:50 - Recess
11:22 / 3:17 - Dismissal
